Hello! Cygnus is my new favourite theme, but I was just wondering if it is at all possible to change the star that shows up next to your links to something else. Thank you! c:
Yes you can, put the following code in the custom css box in the advanced tab of your customize page –
.links li::before, .list .time::before {content: '-';}– if you want to use a special symbol like ‘✈’ you have to use a special css hex value which you can get here.Hi I love the Cygnus theme! I have the free one and I was wondering if there is a way to get rid of the INFO part so that your description is permanently underneath your picture. Also how to get rid of the LINKS button where they slide down so instead the links are permanently underneath your description. Maybe with like a line separating the two but yeah basically just so everything is permanently on the sidebar! :D Thanks! Oh and is there a way to reverse the sidebar so it is on the left? Thanks again! haha!
Buy the premium version to get the sidebar on the left and to have all the sidebar bits open at once; and then you can change the ‘description title’ and ‘links title’ to nothing.
Hi, I just wanted to ask how I can prevent the sidebar area (Description, Links, Questions) from sliding down once it’s hovered.
Just like the sidebar of this: http://cygnustheme.tumblr.com/
Thank you.
That option’s only in the premium version.
I just bought the theme and love everything about it, but I can’t for the life of me work out how to add links to other websites under the ‘links’ section in the sidebar! Would massively appreciate some help :)
On your customize page there’s a tab underneath the appearance options called ‘pages’, go there and make a new one and you can make it into redirect (eg. /example will take you to http://example.com) and check ‘show a link to this page’.
Hi! I bought the Cygnus theme. It’s beautiful and I loaded onto my tumblr page but I am having a problem adding text when I load a photo. I had to switch over to one of the themes from Tumblr that are not nearly as beautiful as yours until I can figure it out, but was wondering if you could help. I just need to post a photo and then be able to write a little blurb about it. How do I do that?
Thanks!!!
you have to check the appearance option ‘show captions’
is there any way i can replace the text titles for last.fm, subpages, about me, etc. to images? i really want my handwriting back on my tumblr.
yes but you’d have to do it manually. go into the code and find
where you’ll find a lot of blocks that start like this{text:Description Title}, you just have to change the {text:~~Title} toand input the url of the image. You can upload images for this purpose here.i bought cygnus shortly after it was released, and i come here and find out there are updates? how do i get these updates?
Just redownload the code with your username
Hmm, if you hit reverse sides on the customize page the punctuation gets all messed up in the info section.. any resolutions?
Dammit this is the one and only problem I’ve ever had with this thems; essentially the tag changes direction of everything from right to left, which for some reason includes the punctuation. You can put the following in your custom css box
.right #sidebar {text-align: right; direction: ltr!important;}to correct the punctuation but it’ll put any list bullets on the left-hand side. Sorry but this isn’t something that is physically possible to fix :(i love, it’s so easy!
I’ve only just began working with this but I adore it, it is, literally, the only theme I have ever paid for (but considering how many I’ve used, I thought it was about time I contributed something) (A whole three dollars, look at me!)
uh oh. I shpoke too soon. Clicking on photosets doesn’t seem to want to work. It will switch to the one photo you click, but it’s cropped off a bunch and all goof’d up. eeek.
i hope it’s a fixable thannng :)
Ah. About the photosets – they’re a bitch.
Basically tumblr just chucks in all this hardcoded stuff and it’ll only work with the fixed 500, 400 and 250px widths. There is no simple solution to making high-res photosets, but I’m searching for one. Right now I can only center the 500px width one or separate each image into high res but then you lose the pretty structure and it’s just vertical. Message me if you’d prefer this and I’ll modify the code for you.
Edit 23/11/11 : I’ve updated the theme which now includes a script that makes high resolution photosets in the same format as ones on your dashboard, but they’re no longer clickable
WOOH. I had been waiting for your new themes ! I had been using your bellatrix areforkids theme, but this one is even better and has no buggies like the belle. So it’s a wonderful thing :)))
Thanks for your magic!
