Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Mercer County, NJ
Duration: 2025-2026 School Year (all year round school)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:00pm
Compensation: Starting at $45/HR
Role Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to K-12 students with diverse learning needs, adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate individual education plans (IEPs).
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success.
Assess student abilities and progress regularly, adjusting instructional methods and interventions as needed.
Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and accommodate students with special needs in various learning environments.
Maintain accurate records, complete required documentation, and participate in IEP meetings and other team-based planning sessions.
Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on student progress, challenges, and strategies for continued support at home.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
Valid Special Education Teacher Certification for the state of New Jersey.
Experience working with K-12 students with diverse learning needs, including those with mild to severe disabilities.
Strong ability to develop and implement individualized learning strategies in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
