Job Details Job Location : Winthrop, WA Salary Range : $22.00 Hourly Description Location: Sun Mountain Lodge – Methow Valley, Washington Department: Adventure & Recreation Team Employment Type: Seasonal (Summer–Fall), Full-Time or Part-Time Job Summary: Sun Mountain Lodge is seeking an energetic, personable, and outdoor-savvy Adventure Specialist who will also serve as the Lead Wade Fishing Guide . This multifaceted role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working with guests, and is passionate about outdoor adventure. You'll serve as a key point of contact for adventure programming, deliver unforgettable guided experiences, and help maintain high standards in guest service and activity coordination. Responsibilities Include: Provide outstanding customer service to all guests interested in our adventure offerings. Lead a variety of outdoor activities including guided hikes, axe throwing events, and fly fishing excursions (wade and Patterson Lake trips). Serve as the primary liaison with the horseback riding program. Manage guest bookings for all adventure activities via phone, email, and walk-ins. Rent, maintain, and perform basic repairs on mountain bikes. Occasionally assist at the Patterson Lake Boat Rental facility. Support and promote the fly fishing program by providing expert information and leading trips. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for retail and activity sales. Uphold Sun Mountain Lodge standards of hospitality and safety at all times. Qualifications Qualifications: Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Basic computer literacy and comfort using email and POS systems. Experience in or willingness to learn basic bike maintenance. Previous guiding or instruction experience preferred, especially in hiking, fly fishing, or axe throwing. Strong knowledge of outdoor recreation and enthusiasm for wilderness experiences. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed. Bonus Qualifications (Preferred but not required): Fly fishing guide certification or significant experience leading fishing trips. Knowledge of local trails, fish species, and outdoor recreation in the Methow Valley area. Retail or guest services background in a hospitality setting.
