Art Instructor – Studio 786 HTX (Houston, TX)
About Us:
Studio 786 HTX is a creative photography and art studio located in the Harwin District of Houston. We host themed paint nights, candle-making, DIY experiences, and private art events in a vibrant, inspiring environment. We’re looking for passionate, creative, and reliable art instructors who can lead our guests through fun, memorable art experiences.
Position Overview:
As an Art Instructor, you’ll be responsible for teaching guided painting or DIY art classes to small groups in a relaxed, upbeat atmosphere. You don’t need to be a fine artist—just someone who can teach step-by-step, keep energy high, and ensure guests have a great time while producing artwork they’re proud of.
Responsibilities:
Instruct guests in step-by-step painting, drawing, or creative projects
Prepare materials and set up class before each session
Engage guests in a friendly, energetic, and encouraging way
Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle cleanup after classes
Assist with social media content (photos/videos during classes)
Represent Studio 786 HTX with professionalism and positive energy
Qualifications:
Strong artistic ability with a fun, approachable teaching style
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Punctual, dependable, and comfortable leading groups
Experience teaching art or hosting workshops preferred
Active social media or portfolio showcasing your work is a plus
Compensation:
This is an independent contractor role . Compensation is based on a per-class rate or percentage of ticket sales , depending on the event. Opportunities to grow with the studio and host your own specialty workshops are available.
