Overview Assistant Shelter Manager Full Time Nights / 11pm-7:30am / $24-$27 per hour Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking an Assistant Shelter Manager for Faith Mission in Columbus, Ohio. Faith Mission is one of the largest homeless shelters in Columbus, Ohio, providing meals and shelter to men, women and Veterans with dignity and compassion. The ideal candidate will share Our Mission: Creating a better world by serving people in need. What will I do as the Assistant Shelter Manager with Lutheran Social Services? Assists Shelter Manager with administrative duties as assigned. This may include scheduling, ordering supplies, and attendance at internal or community meetings. Train and coach engagement staff to ensure high quality shelter and engagement services within the guidelines of the agency mission and vision. Participates in hiring, supervision, and training of staff. Provide guidance, feedback and directions to staff regarding performance expectations. Communicate performance issues to Shelter Manager and partners on improvement plan. Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation of shelter facility including main areas, resident dorms, staff areas, restrooms, and all common areas within the facility; report all maintenance needs to the Shelter Manager and Faith Mission Maintenance team. Anticipate and respond to the needs of the residents and the facility. Develop, implement and maintain regular maintenance and housekeeping schedules in conjunction with facilities staff. Maintain supply inventory including that of cleaning, infection control, PPE, laundry and office supplies. Work with In-Kind Donation Team to obtain appropriate materials for successful customer service operations within the facility. Assist with the development, monitoring, and management of facility and program budget. Assist Shelter Manager with performance evaluations. Participate in on-call rotation. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements for the Assistant Shelter Manager with Lutheran Social Services: Minimum of a high school degree or GED. Minimum two years' experience in homeless shelter and/or residential services. Minimum one year's experience in a leadership role. Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work with diverse populations. Exemplary customer service skills. Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of insurance.
