Intrepid Studios is looking for a passionate and talented Associate Game Designer , interested in creating brand new worlds with a brand new IP. Our Junior Game Designer would live and breathe games, and understand gamers. They have experience designing games, either in school or professionally. They want to be challenged to learn new skills, tools, and techniques, and to grow as a game designer. They must be able to clearly communicate their ideas to a variety of audiences. They must work well with others, enjoy and seek out collaboration, and be willing to accept constructive critique and creative direction. A passion for MMORPGs is required!

Responsibilities:
  • Own, design, test, and maintain content, scripts, and data for game systems
  • Work within defined pipelines and according to best practices while always seeking to improve both
  • Able to operate mostly independently when provided with clear initial guidance
  • Able to solve problems relying upon occasional mentoring and feedback.
  • Develop and maintain game design documentation
  • Continually iterate, balance and tune content, data, and gameplay based on feedback from team, QA and playtesting
  • Communicate, coordinate and participate in a collaborative, interdisciplinary, cross-studio team environment
  • Be adaptable, detail-oriented, well organized and a great communicator


Qualifications:

  • Game design experience
  • Passion for games and game development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong game design skills and methodology
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, iterative environment, while delivering under deadlines and time constraints.
  • Ability to learn new development tools and technologies.
  • Unreal 5 experience is a major plus

The Legal Bits:

We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $55,000 - $82,500, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
