Athletic Trainer - Part Time

Title : Exercise Physiologist / Athletic Trainer 

Location: Auburn, Washington

Pay: $22.00 to $28.00 Hourly DOE

Hours of work : Monday through Friday, variable hours. (On-site).

Position Overview:

Exercise Physiologists are responsible for creating individualized exercise programming with the support of a Registered Dietitian and Physical Therapist in a variety of wellness services. With access to state-of-the-art technology and equipment, Exercise Physiologists obtain the needed data to deliver evidence-based programming as integral members of the Lifestyle Medicine interdisciplinary team. The Exercise Physiologist will engage clients to improve their health through exercise and behavior change via motivational interviewing and exercise prescription.

Exercise Physiologists report directly to the Wellness Director. The position requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently to deliver high quality Lifestyle Medicine programming in alignment with patient and care team goals. Employees are expected to maintain a safe and clean exercise environment while creating a professional health and wellness atmosphere.

1. Is capable of driving outcomes through managing patient data and identifying trends.
2. Strong computer skills and ability to learn new computer programs.
3. Demonstrates ability to manage multiple tasks and demands ensuring a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Willingness to embrace and seize opportunities provided by change.
5. Proficient at working and communicating with a population diverse in age, ethnicity, educational background, cognitive/psychological status, and physical capacity.
6. Experience in performing fitness evaluations and prescriptions.
7. Demonstrates the ability to write defensible documentation.
8. Comfortability with sales-related conversations as part of driving behavior change.

1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology Exercise Physiology or a related field.
2. Must have or obtain ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist or Clinical Exercise Physiologist credential within the first 6 months of employment.
3. Must have or obtain Basic Life Support (CPR/AED) certification or eligible to take within 60 days of hire.
