Position Summary
We are seeking a Biomedical Engineering Technician to support the Phoenix VA Health Care System. This role involves maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting medical equipment and systems to ensure patient safety, compliance, and clinical efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, testing, and maintenance of medical equipment and systems.
• Support upgrades and replacements for patient monitoring, infusion pumps, and clinical information systems.
• Perform inspections, functional testing, and user training on equipment.
• Work with vendors, IT staff, and clinical teams to ensure safe and compliant integration of medical devices.
• Maintain accurate records of system configurations, equipment status, and service activities.
• Monitor equipment for safety alerts, recalls, and cybersecurity requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in biomedical/clinical engineering, Electronics, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience maintaining medical equipment in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of computer-based medical systems, networking, and information security.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards (VA, TJC, NFPA, FDA).
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a government background check required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Philips monitoring, Picis CIS/ARK, GE MUSE, Welch Allyn Connex, or BD infusion pumps.
• Understanding of VA HTM processes and cybersecurity requirements.

• Day shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm (no weekends or on-call).
