Job Description

This is a full-time position responsible for cash management and accounts payable functions. Serves as bookkeeper under the direction of the Director of the regional library system which provides library service in five counties and includes nine branch libraries and a mobile library. Works closely with the system director and administrative assistant.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Prepares all financial statements, reports statistics, pays bills, prepares preliminary data for the annual budget. Responsible for cash management and accounts payable functions. Prepares monthly financial statements and provides information as required by the director. Cooperates with and supplies necessary data to the auditor and any outside consultants. Compiles statistics and completes reports, as required.

Qualifications and Skills: Minimum of two years bookkeeping experience and accounting software experience required. Two years of college preferred; additional bookkeeping/accounting classes on a college level is desirable. Experience as a full-charge bookkeeper is desirable but not required. Knowledge of Sage accounting software is desirable. Knowledge of government fund accounting is an asset.

32 hours per week. Wage: $22.43 per hour. Benefits include paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays. Covered by Workers Compensation, Unemployment Compensation, Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA), and Social Security. Group health insurance. Probationary period is 6 months.
