Position: Clinical Medical Physicist
Description:
Decypher is seeking a
Clinical Medical Physicist to support Radiation Oncology Services at WRNMMC.
Responsibilities include :
Scheduled Specialty Procedures: - Brachytherapy (LDR and HDR)
- 3-D Treatment Planning
- Equipment Acceptance Testing
- Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) Planning
- Superficial/Ortho-voltage X-ray Therapy
- Emergency specialty procedures (Whole Brain, Cord Compression, Superior Vena Cava Syndrome).
Administrative Services: - Continuing Medical Education
- Quality Assurance Functions
- Academic consultation to the Commander
- Coordination with other departments/hospital staff for comprehensive patient care.
Operations: - Operate/direct staff on radiation therapy equipment (Varian Trilogy, Truebeam, Tomotherapy HiART, Respiratory Gating hardware)
- Brachytherapy source calibration/storage
- Manage GammaMed HDR system
- Information systems: Varian\'s ARIA patient management, simulation systems (Phillips Gemini PET/CT), planning/dosimetry systems (Varian Eclipse, BrainLab iPlan, VariSeed, Gamma Med HDR)
- Physics/QA equipment (IBA OmniPro water tank, Sun Nuclear ArcCheck, ion chambers, electrometers, diodes, etc.)
- Train others (including residents) in use of clinical and software systems, adherence to SOPs.
- Assist with CPT coding for Physics/dosimetry procedures.
Requirements: Degree/Education: - Master\'s degree in medical physics, physics, engineering, or related physical science.
- At least two (2) years’ experience in radiation therapy physics, documented by a physicist certified by the ABMP or ABR; OR
- Subspecialty certification as Medical Physicist by ABMP in Radiation Oncology Physics, ABR in Therapeutic or Radiological Physics, or the Canadian College of Physics in Medicine.
Certifications: - Basic Life Support
Experience: - Minimum 24 months as a Medical Physicist within the past 40 months.
- At least 24 months\' experience in IMRT, including patient immobilization and data acquisition, planning, QA procedures, dosimetry, film QA validation for IMRT treatment plans.
- 24 continuous months of supervisory clinical experience within the last 36 months.
- Three letters of recommendation (within last 5 years) from a practicing Radiation Oncologist, Radiation Physicist, or Radiation Therapy Supervisor, attesting to experience and skills.
Skills: - Thorough understanding of relevant clinic software/systems such as Varian Aria/Eclipse, Phillips PET CT, Tomotherapy, LDR prostate brachytherapy (VariSeed), Varian GammaMed HDR, Brainlab iPlan/Exactrac, RadCalc, Sun Nuclear ArcChek, IBA Omnipro water tank.
- Ability to train others, including residents.
- US Citizenship required.
- Willingness to attend conferences/seminars outside of the local area as required.
