Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our HVAC team. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, and repair of ductwork and other sheet metal components for commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical drawings, layout, and installation techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and HVAC systems per blueprints and specifications
• Measure and mark dimensions for duct placement and layout using hand tools and power tools
• Install air ducts, fittings, dampers, grills, and other HVAC components
• Inspect installed systems for proper functioning and make adjustments as necessary
• Ensure all installations meet safety and code compliance standards
• Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades on job sites
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, follow all safety protocols, and wear appropriate PPE
• Use proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment as needed
• Interpret and work from shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in commercial sheet metal or HVAC installation
• Proficient in layout, cutting, bending, and assembling sheet metal
• Strong knowledge of HVAC duct design and fabrication standards
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and mechanical drawings
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or lifts as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and install DUCT systems for HVAC, ductwork, and other commercial building applications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine materials, dimensions, and installation techniques.
• Cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal components using hand tools, machines, and equipment.
• Install ductwork, exhaust systems, and custom metal components to ensure proper fit, function, and alignment.
• Perform on-site measurements and modifications to ensure accurate installations and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair existing sheet metal systems , identifying and resolving issues such as leaks, blockages, and system inefficiencies.
• Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations .
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment , following all OSHA and company safety procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and goals.
