Description
The Company Manager will play an integral role in the behind-the-scenes workings of an active LORT regional theater. Reporting to the General Manager, this full-time position will provide consistent support for Milwaukee Rep's Guest Artists, including directors, playwrights, actors, designers, and other collaborators; is a highly visible representative of Milwaukee Rep; and maintains excellent relationships with artists, staff, volunteers, local community, and vendors. In addition, this position supports departmental administrative processes.
Duties and responsibilities include: - Arrange travel and short/long term housing, and hospitality assistance for Guests Artists
- Communicate information in advance of artists' arrival concerning the theater, Milwaukee, housing, and other pertinent travel information required
- Assist the General Manager with the contracting process
- Plan and oversee company functions and events including but not limited to, company parties, staff outings, opening nights, and rehearsal/performance dinners
- Maintain and assign housing for our housing partner for Milwaukee Rep's Emerging Professional Resident (EPR) program
- Work with EPR supervisor team on housing, transportation, onboarding, and day-to-day life at Milwaukee Rep
- Provide transportation to/from airport or train station, shopping centers, doctors' offices/hospitals, and trips as needed
- Oversee use, maintenance, and cleanliness of shared spaces (Green Room, Break Room) including kitchen appliances and supplies
- Work with General Manager to oversee housing, transportation, & hospitality budgets
- Track expenses related to company management functions and maintain accurate records
- Maintain accurate records by working with and reconciling monthly with the General Manager
- Maintain relationships with partner hotels, volunteers, and various vendors
- Seek out and continue working relationships with outside businesses that support our Guest Artists
- In conjunction with the HR Manager, supervise the day-to-day responsibilities and performance of the Management Associate
- Other tasks as assigned by General Manager
Requirements
Qualifications: - One to two years of theater, hospitality or related arts company management experience preferred
- Ability to pass a background check in accordance with state and/or federal laws
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, all while exhibiting grace and good humor under pressure
- Ability to exercise empathy toward all peoples and situations and be comfortable handling sensitive/confidential information with tact and discretion
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) & Adobe
- Demonstrated ability to be a quick learner and apply newly learned skills quickly
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle maintaining a good driving record
Schedule: - Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
- Be available to be on call, as scheduled, for issues and/or emergencies that may arise during weeknights and weekends

Salary Description
$47,000 to $50,000 per year
