Job Description
Join our Federal Services Team supporting major Intelligence Program in northern Virginia. We are hiring a Cyber Security Engineer to support a technical engagement for an IC customer. Candidates must be able to maintain a TS/SCI Clearance with a CI Poly and be able to work on-site full-time at the prime contractor's facility in Herndon, VA.
Responsibilities:
Identify system and network vulnerabilities and provide analysis, technical guidance, and remediation requirements to stakeholders.
Apply Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) hardening to systems in accordance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Conduct daily system audit analysis and log reviews to monitor, detect, and respond to security events.
Support cybersecurity activities throughout all phases of the software and system lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
Implement secure configurations and hardening procedures for Department of Defense (DoD) information systems.
Support the use and integration of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions and cloud technologies to enhance system security.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure systems meet or exceed cybersecurity standards and compliance requirements.
Document findings, develop mitigation strategies, and contribute to system security plans and accreditation packages.
Required Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated CI Polygraph (required prior to start).
DoD 8570/8140-approved certification such as CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CISSP, or equivalent.
Experience providing vulnerability analysis, security guidance, and remediation support.
Knowledge of or hands-on experience with:
Cybersecurity activities in support of software and system development lifecycles.
Secure configuration and hardening of DoD information systems.
SIEM tools and cloud security technologies.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
