We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative, operational, and departmental support for the Economics Department. Key duties include coordinating departmental workflow, scheduling, planning, and travel for meetings, events, programs, and seminar series; maintaining expenditures, monitoring budgets, and coordinating purchases of office supplies; and assisting in marketing efforts such as creating and distributing promotional materials. Primary Responsibilities Acts as first point of contact for the unit or department; answers questions and provides resources to students, staff, and faculty via phone or email. Manages scheduling and calendar appointments. Assists with coordinating events and/or meetings, including securing locations, arranging catering, working with vendors and presenters, identifying audio‑visual needs, and coordinating travel. Inputs data and maintains records in department databases and compiles, tracks, and assesses various data fields; may generate reports from databases. Completes financial transactions such as submitting invoices, check requests, reimbursement requests, transfers, expenses reports, and student payroll with required documentation; monitors departmental expenditures and budgets. Maintains and updates websites and the online calendar of events. Orders necessary office supplies and materials; works with vendors on invoicing and purchase orders; liaises with appropriate parties to service office equipment and troubleshoot issues. Prepares and sends communications and correspondence as directed; provides marketing and communications support by coordinating, ordering, and creating promotional materials for events. Performs other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need, such as maintaining records and data for economics majors, ensuring data is up‑to‑date and accurate, and performing ad‑hoc department reports.
