Job Description

Placers Professional is seeking a Facility Maintenance Mechanic III for our prestigious client in Sussex County, Delaware. This roll is a Contract to hire or Direct hire role.

You would be responsible for performing skilled maintenance, inspection, and repair work across the company facilities and infrastructure. This includes work on buildings, grounds, vehicles, machinery, and equipment with minimal supervision. You must be comfortable with heights.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general building repairs, including carpentry, Electrical, drywall, plumbing, minor HVAC, and painting.
• Remodel and refresh office spaces and restrooms; includes drywall finishing, flooring/carpeting, and trim work.
• Maintain and enhance lawn and landscaping.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on vehicles and support equipment such as golf carts, forklifts, tractors, and mowers.
• Service aerospace ground equipment, maintenance stands, and industrial machinery.
• Prepare grounds and facilities for inclement weather; remove snow and water as necessary.
• Maintain tools, organize supplies, and report equipment needs.
• Inspect and service fire extinguishers and related safety systems.
• Operate floor scrubbers and clean hangar floors.
• Move heavy furniture, supplies, and equipment manually or with hand trucks.
• Set up and break down event spaces, including tables, chairs, and decorations.
• Fill in for custodial staff as needed; tasks include general cleaning, vacuuming, and waste removal.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company policies.
• Minimize material waste and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
• Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Complete required training in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years of general/facilities maintenance experience.
• Commercial Heavy Electrical and HVAC, Carpentry, lite plumbing, automotive and hydraulics experience necessary.
• Must be comfortable with heights.
• Skilled in using standard hand and power tools.
• Able to work both independently and in team settings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong multitasking capabilities.
• Willingness and ability to work extended hours as needed.
