Overview
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Public Programs, the Grants Manager is responsible for the administrative oversight of all grants and publicly funded contracts. This includes developing and implementing documentation policies to support funding allocations, supporting the collection and analysis of program performance data, and overseeing mandatory program reporting. The Grants Manager is also the agency lead for identifying, developing, and submitting proposals in response to new funding opportunities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Grant Development and Writing
• Research and identify potential funding opportunities for presentation to MHF Leadership.
• Prepare and write LOIs and concept papers tailored to each funder based on their priorities and requirements.
• Coordinate with program staff during assembly of program narrative, budget/financial data, and other information involved in preparation of new and renewal public funding applications for timely submission of private, county, state, and federal grants.
Grant Reporting & Compliance
• Collaborate with Public Programs leadership and MHF Evaluation staff to develop and maintain program evaluation tools.
• Oversee collection, analysis, and presentation of program performance metrics and fiscal data. Create, modify and monitor grant budgets.
• Assist Program Managers with writing grant reports, ensuring submission of thoughtful and timely reports.
• Ensure compliance for federal and state grants, including facilitation of program officer calls, audits, monitoring visits, and regulatory guidance.
Evaluation and Quality assurance
• Establish and maintain standardized protocols for program documentation, ensuring Program Managers implement consistent record-keeping practices.
• Collaborate with Program Managers to design and implement effective data management systems that track key performance indicators and program outcomes.
• Assist the Senior Director of Public Programs in monitoring program compliance, maintaining comprehensive documentation, and managing contract expiration/renewal processes.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives through data analysis and best practice implementation.
• Other duties may be assigned, as required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, business administration or related fields.
• Five years of experience managing publicly funded grants
• Experience in data compilation/analysis and concise, compelling written/audiovisual presentations.
• Experience in team-oriented project management working in deadline-driven environments.
• Experience working in diverse settings with people across the socio-economic spectrums and a wide variety of roles – program participants and staff, local service partner agencies, etc.
• Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as project deadlines require.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and to function independently to produce results that meet standards of quality and timeliness, as well as make appropriate decisions in the absence of executives.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with clients, consultants, management, and staff.
• Ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, assume responsibility for projects and set priorities.

8601 Schedule: Mon-Thurs 11am-8pm; Friday's 9am-6pm
8280: Mon-Thurs 11am-8pm; Friday's 9am-6pm; Saturdays on a rotating basis 9am-6pm. (one Saturday every month or every month and a half)
9201: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
