Position Title: Manufacturing Sourcing Manager

Location: On-site at 52 Launch Headquarters – Framingham, MA
Travel: Periodic travel to China and Vietnam - roughly once per quarter.

Required experience: You have been the primary point of contact for factories based in China and/or Vietnam that manufacture products for your company. You have established new relationships with factories by meeting them in person and agreeing upon project manufacturing project parameters. You have relationships with multiple factories, and you have also visited China and/or Vietnam as part of your work within the last 3 years.

Position Description

The Factory Sourcing Manager at 52 Launch will source, negotiate, and manage relationships with overseas manufacturing partners—primarily in Asia with a focus on China. This US-based role is ideal for someone with deep experience working directly with Chinese factories, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to evaluate and manage cost, quality, and lead time trade-offs in a fast-moving consumer product environment.

This person will sit in our US office but serve as the key point of contact between our design, production, and international supply partners. Their job is to find and manage the right factory partners for each product, solve production challenges quickly, and ensure our clients receive the highest quality goods on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, vet, and secure new overseas factory partners—primarily in China—for consumer product manufacturing

• Maintain and expand a network of trusted factory relationships across various categories

• Negotiate cost, MOQ, tooling, lead times, and payment terms with manufacturers

• Collaborate with our in-house product design and production teams to translate prototypes into mass production

• Travel to Asia as needed to visit factories, conduct audits, and manage production timelines

• Resolve quality or timeline issues that arise during production, shipping, or sampling

• Track and maintain all sourcing documentation, including quotes, timelines, compliance, and sample history

• Advise internal teams on sourcing risks, cost trade-offs, and alternate options

Qualifications

• Existing relationships with a wide range of overseas factories across product categories (plastics, metals, textiles, electronics, etc.)

• 5+ years experience in sourcing or supply chain roles focused on asian-based manufacturing

• History of successful factory negotiation, vetting, and production oversight

• Experience traveling to and working in Asia—able to travel internationally as needed

• Knowledge of product development, sampling, tooling, and mass production timelines

• Strong communication skills across time zones and cultures

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with diverse product types

• Mandarin language proficiency a plus, but not required
