Job Title: IT Help Desk Technician Level I

Reports to: Director of IT

Job Summary:

Signal Group’s Entry-Level Helpdesk Technician will work collaboratively with all Signal Group staff, as well as all members of I/T staff, to assist users in resolving problems through discussion and diagnosis. They take the steps necessary to remedy the problem and refer more complex problems to a higher level. This role also has responsibility for meeting department and company standards for productivity, product knowledge, resourcefulness, and being solution driven.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Addresses and solves Help Desk tickets as assigned by Help Desk Technician Level 2 and/or IT Director.
  • Keeps assigned Help Desk tickets up to date and addresses problems in a timely manner.
  • Aids in documentation of IT processes and stores them in a central document repository.
  • Keeps IT equipment updates current to supported levels.
  • Maintains current knowledge of new and developing technologies that may be utilized in support of current, or future, assets.
  • Communicates all required information including any changes of procedures or status of Signal Group IT assets.
  • Keeps documentation of currently assigned assets up to date.
  • Works on special projects as necessary.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, in an understandable manner, and listen attentively to employees
  • Provides IT guidance to team members and communicates well with the Director of IT
  • Strong organizational, time management, and follow through skills
  • Proficient in MS programs and Google/Edge.
  • Basic Windows networking a plus
  • Knowledge of EOS is a plus

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year experience in computer software and hardware applications or equivalent

Physical or Other Requirements:

Ability to sit and work at a computer up to 8 hours per day
