Junior High Pastor

Summary of Position

The Junior High Pastor is a part of MISSION ANTHEM Youth and oversees the 7th and 8th grade ministry. This includes oversight and execution of services, events, volunteer teams, ministry venue/space, junior high staff and other ANTHEM Youth areas. This position is also under the umbrella of the NextGen team, and will be engaged and involved with the larger team. 

Primary Work Schedule:

• Expected start date January 2025
• Full-Time Position (approximately 40 hours per week) 
• Sunday - Thursday (typical schedule below but may be required to assist with other church and Next Gen events) 
  • Sunday morning 
  • Tuesday Night JH Services
  • Monday-Thursday in office 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Lead the vision, mission, and values of ANTHEM Youth and MISSION Community Church to your coaches and volunteers teams
• Champion the NextGen “lead small” movement where the Group Leaders are: present, creating safe places, partnering with parents, making it personal and moving them out
• Assist in ongoing recruiting efforts for Junior High volunteers as well as partner with the NextGen team on organized recruiting efforts 
• Onboard, train, and manage volunteers and coaches 
• Plan, prepare and execute Junior High services weekly
• Function as primary stage communicator for Junior High service messages
• Champion bible centered teaching
• Lead a team of staff members towards the overall vision, quality and goals of Anthem Youth
• Partner with ANTHEM Youth High School team to create a cohesive and collaborative team
• Participate in select church-wide/NextGen functions, events and meetings as needed and required 
• Other tasks as assigned by NextGen Pastor

Requirements: 

• High School graduate or equivalent 
• Experience working Kids and Youth
• Strong and proficient computer and creativity skills in designing new and entertaining ways for students to learn about life in Christ and faith values
• Prior experience working or volunteering with Kids/Youth and the ability to deal with and relate to young people by earning their respect and trust
• Excellent organization and supervision skills
• Strong management and leadership skills in educating and preaching religious messages
• Ability to write your own sermons/teachings 
• Proficiency in biblical studies
• Self motivated and excited for creating a space to bring students to learn about Jesus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills accompanied by a positive attitude with young students in the church
