Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Animal Care

• Bedding and cage changes
• Animal health checks
• Equipment sanitization
• Waste disposal (including hazardous waste)

Environmental Maintenance

• o Monitor environment of animal facility

• o Record animal care and animal facility/room information

Facility Maintenance

• Filter Changing
• Room Sanitization

Additional Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to SOPs
• Documentation and recordkeeping
• Assist in Equipment Calibrations
• Facility repairs and minor upgrades
• Prepare tissue samples for transport
• Assist in minor toxicology techniques
• Work in a team environment with a professional and positive attitude
• Other duties as needed

Management Responsibilities

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Education:

• H.S. diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

• 0-1 years

Skills:

• Operation of routine animal care equipment (e.g., rack washer, mouse cages, and water bottles)

Certifications:

• AALAS certification at ALAT level preferred

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
