Job Description

Position Summary:

The Liability Claims Adjuster plays a critical role in our risk management process by conducting thorough investigations of all third-party claims while providing an exceptional customer service experience. This role will be tasked with gathering and analyzing a wide range of documentation to accurately evaluate liability and property damage. Expertise in identifying and pursuing risk transfer opportunities will be essential for mitigating exposure, while a disciplined approach to documentation and compliance will ensure all claims are handled in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements, including Medicare.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct thorough claim investigations, including communication with onsite teams, claimant statements, witness statements, liability and property damage evaluation, and review of all claim-related documentation (security footage, incident reports, lease agreements, contracts, etc.). 
  • Exercise proper judgment and decision-making to ensure timely investigation and handling of claims, including coverage determination. 
  • Mitigate exposure by identifying opportunities for early resolution of claims. 
  • Review applicable contracts to assess potential risk transfer opportunities to third parties.
  • Ensure claims files are appropriately documented in accordance with company policy.
  • Set and maintain appropriate reserves based on exposure and company policy.
  • Complete reporting to insurance carriers based on the claim reporting policy.
  • Ensure Medicare compliance when applicable.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ Years of liability claims experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with claims management systems.

 

Certifications:

  • Must hold, or obtain, a California Independent Adjuster License within six months of hire. 

 

Other:

  • Multilingual ability is a plus.

  Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $103,500.00 - $127,400.00

 

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
