Mechanical Engineer
We are looking for a talented and creative Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. In this key position, you will play a crucial role in developing state-of-the-art CNC milling machines. Your responsibilities will include designing, testing, and optimizing high-precision equipment used in various industries. If you have a passion for mechanical design, excellent problem-solving skills, and an interest in advanced manufacturing technologies, we encourage you to apply and become part of our team.

• Work alongside mechanical and electrical design engineers, project teams, and vendors to create components and systems for large, high-performance CNC milling machines.
• Participate in R&D efforts to design accessories and processes tailored for large machine tool applications.
• Design custom fixtures to address diverse end-user requirements, utilizing both off-the-shelf automation components and specially designed parts.
• Coordinate and take part in design reviews.
• Collaborate with vendors to build strong working relationships and troubleshoot issues.
• Execute 3D CAD design using SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation.
• Perform FEA analysis for both static and dynamic evaluations.
• Provide design insights to support Manufacturing, Service, Sales, and Marketing teams.
• Develop detailed drawings of mechanical components and systems, emphasizing GD&T.
• Participate in hands-on activities with manufacturing and service teams.
• Help retrofit older equipment in partnership with the Service team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• SolidWorks modeling
• Structural FEA analysis and GD&T experience
• Machining, welding, casting experience is an asset
• Electromechanical or robotic knowledge (motors, motion systems, sensors)
• Experienced in hydraulic and pneumatic design
• Worked in an ISO-certified environment
• Ability to select linear bearings and size ball screws
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of CAM/CNC software
