Microbiology Lab Technician

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Microbiology Lab Technician, working in a fast-paced laboratory environment. You will perform essential laboratory support functions, focusing primarily on maintaining a clean and organized workspace rather than conducting analyses. This role offers excellent growth opportunities, including training in advanced testing methods like PCR analysis.

Responsibilities

• Stock shelves and manage chemical inventory.
• Sweep floors and clean workspaces to maintain a safe laboratory environment.
• Perform pH testing and balance calibration.
• Register samples for testing orders, including weighing, diluting, and incubating samples to test for pathogens.
• Autoclave equipment, clean glassware, and ensure an orderly workstation.
• Provide documentation support as needed.
• Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and follow safety protocols.
• Collaborate with a small laboratory team to prioritize tasks and ensure effective sample preparation and aseptic techniques.
• Maintain precise data and documentation.
• Communicate effectively and take direction from team members.

Essential Skills

• BA/BS in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related degree (non-science degrees will be considered).
• Completed at least two Microbiology/Biology laboratory courses.
• Demonstrated positive attitude and willingness to learn, verified by references.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mounds View, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
