Laitram, L.L.C. is seeking a Painter/Drywall Finisher to join the Corporate Facilities Management and Engineering Team at our Harahan office. This individual will work to maintain and refresh the overall campus appearance by responding to requests for painting and drywall repair and participating in projects that require painting and drywall work. This position will also support project activities and corrective work orders required for normal campus operations.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities: •Performs painting and drywall work as needed for campus maintenance or project completion.
•Repair and/or install new epoxy coatings to different flooring applications
•Apply roof coatings to help with leak prevention
•Installs wallboards to ceilings and/or interior walls of buildings and applies plaster. Applies coats of compound after panels are mounted to walls or ceiling, and smooths out imperfections.
•Fills cracks, holes, depressions, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers. Scrapes, sandpapers, or seals surfaces prior to painting. Cleans walls ensuring proper paint adherence.
•Erects scaffolding, staging, or rigging to gain access to difficult areas.
•Moves furniture, fixtures and equipment as necessary prior to painting or renovation.
•May assist with construction or demolition of structures, including partition walls, metal stud wall framing, door or window frames, and/or ceiling tiles.
•Assists with completion of small renovation projects and participates in completing punchlist items at the end of small renovation projects handled by Corporate Facilities.
•Complies with work order system and adheres to company policies and safety procedures.
•Performs any other miscellaneous duties as requested.
Requirements: •3+ years' experience as a painter and drywall finisher.
•2+ years' experience in a general construction or campus maintenance environment.
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Must be detail oriented and precise when painting and finishing drywall.
•Must be physically able to perform maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to: climb ladders, lift objects, extend arms to reach overhead, etc.
•Ability to read labels, directions, work orders, etc.
•Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, and other common warehouse equipment.
•Must be a team player committed to working in an environment of continuous improvement.
•Must be able to communicate effectively to deliver excellent customer satisfaction.
•Must possess a valid driver's license.
Desired Qualifications •Experience with carpentry, renovation projects, electrical work and/or plumbing work.
•Experience operating aerial lifts and paint sprayers
•Some computer experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
