Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Pallet Inspector at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas.

Pay & Schedule

• Hourly Pay: $16.00 per hour
• Schedule: First Shift Monday Friday 5:00 am 1:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 12 years or more in carpentry or a manufacturing environment preferred
• Basic math comprehension
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a diverse environment
• Highly thorough and dependable
• Punctual with a good attendance record
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• High initiative and accuracy even under pressure
• Team player and professional relationship builder
• Operate power equipment safely
• Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs; frequent twist, stoop, squat, reach, crouch; perform repetitive movements; stand and walk for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Pallet Inspector/Palamatic Operator Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and safety standards.
• Manually lift 70lb pallets from a stack to a rolling line; lift pallets for inspection and separation using the Palamatic machine.
• Quality Ensure proper inspection and separation.
• Inventory Conduct physical inventories as required.
• Safety and Security Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; assist in maintaining warehouse security; conduct operations that promote safety; comply with OSHA and MSDS standards; wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets; perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract; perform other duties as assigned.
