Position Summary : This is an armed security officer position. This individual will maintain a safe and secure environment for DSW family by patrolling and monitoring residential and/or corporate locations or conducting specialized protection operations where directed.

Key Roles / Responsibilities :

  • Protection of company executives, employees, and assets.
  • Monitor and document arrival and departure of all contractors, employees and visitors.
  • Operate and monitor security surveillance, alarm and phone systems.
  • Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
  • Write reports regarding any security/suspicious activities or incidents.
  • Identify, investigate, or resolve security breaches.
  • Respond to security threats/emergencies, making appropriate contact to 911 for police, fire, or EMS emergency response when necessary.
  • Periodic foot and/or vehicle patrols of premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of controlled access points.
  • Screen incoming mail and packages, sign for if required, and sort for further distribution.
  • Staff special events at various company locations as directed.
  • Escort or drive motor vehicles to transport company executives to specified locations and to provide personal protection.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Recognizes confidential information and maintains it in accordance with standard procedures.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Honorably discharged from US Armed Services if applicable.
  • Able to read, write and speak English.
  • Capable of communicating effectively with company executives, staff, contractors and vendors.
  • Possess, or be able to obtain a Level II, III, and IV Security Commission from TX DPS Private Security Bureau.
  • Ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to achieve job functions.
  • Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload.
  • The ability to continually meet minimum physical fitness requirements that will be tested on a quarterly basis.
  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
  • Ability to detect potential threats.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, integrity and honesty.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships and maintain them over time.
  • Dependable, reliable and capable of fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Minimum of two years of relative security experience.
  • Must be capable of working independently with little or no supervision and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Level III or Level IV Security Certification with DPS, preferred.
  • Valid Passport
  • Experience in Combat Arms, preferred.

Working Conditions :

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift.
  • Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
  • Must demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
