Job Purpose:

The Production Packer is responsible for packing into case configurations directly off the line or in an assembly area at a set fill rate. This role will keep accurate counts of sleeve and case quantities while packing.

Responsibilities:

· Maintaining a clean work area

· Following all applicable safety policies and procedures

· Following all GMP’s and General Food Safety Requirements

· Following all food Defense Procedures

· Checking case configurations

· Posting visual standards and maintaining visual standards

· Participate in process improvement activities

· Participate in team forums, huddles and escalation sessions

· Following other duties as required

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Demonstrated understanding and ability to pack cases at set fill rate while maintaining product configuration

· Demonstrated ability to

· Ability to speak, read and write English

· Ability to complete shift paperwork completely and in a timely manner

· Demonstrated understanding of importance of safety and quality procedures and programs

· Solid communication skills to interface regularly with production, maintenance and quality

Quality and Food safety Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Apply and enforce all quality & food safety programs in accordance with regulatory requirements, FSSC 22000 standard, customers and Tribe requirements.

· Take necessary measures when there is deviation from policies and standards.

· Participate and recommend solutions to common quality & food safety issues.

· Take action to continuously improve his/her process targets.

· Adhere/ follow the food safety programs in the department including GMPs

Education and Experience :

· Experience in food processing and packaging preferred

· High school diploma required

 

Training Requirements:

· General Safety.

· Quality System Awareness.

 

Physical Demands :

· Regularly required to stand, bend and lift up to 30 pounds.

 

Work Environment:

· Plant environment

· Regular exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold or chemicals.
