Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Manager to join our team and oversee safety protocols across all construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management and a strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and programs tailored to the construction industry.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
  • Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks to educate employees on safety practices and protocols.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, or near misses, and create detailed reports outlining findings, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety audits, training sessions, and incidents to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety considerations into all phases of construction projects.
  • Ensure the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all employees.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to safety rules, addressing violations promptly and effectively.
  • Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and industry trends, recommending updates to safety programs as needed.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure their compliance with company safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety Manager or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and educate a diverse workforce.
  • Proficiency in creating and delivering safety training materials.
  • Certification in safety-related programs such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), or OSHA 500 (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • This position is based in our Miami office but requires regular travel to construction job sites to ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.

Work Environment

  • Frequent travel to construction sites is required.
  • May involve exposure to outdoor conditions, construction equipment, and materials.
  • Flexible hours may be needed to accommodate site schedules or emergencies.
