Security Shift Manager

Core Responsibilities:

• Assist in the supervision of all security personnel, both uniform and plain clothes operations.
• Assist in creation of department policies and procedures.
• Assist in conducting internal investigations
• Ensures their shift has appropriate staff levels, coaching and corrective action plans are followed.
• Responsible for compliance with the New York State Security Guard Act in reference to hiring and mandatory training of all security personnel.
• Maintain knowledge of the union contract as it pertains to the positions in the Security Department.
• Maintain a safe work and customer environment.
• Supervise, manage, and direct the selection, training, development, and appraisal of staff.
• Have necessary skills to deal with guest complaints and help defuse difficult, and sometimes emotionally charged, situations, using active listening skills and maintain customer goodwill and respect.
• Role model company guest service program.
• Understand the goals and vision of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Have NYS Security guard license or equivalent
• High school diploma or GED required, preferred minimum two years related experience or law enforcement experience.
• Two years' supervisory experience.
• Must have ability to obtain a New York State Key Lottery
• Intermediate computer skills including word-processing, spreadsheets, routine database activity and e-mail.

Other:

• Weekends, holidays, and swing shifts may be required.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
