Senior Data Analyst

Remote (Some Travel Expectations to Chicago & Baltimore)

12-Month Contract

$60-65/hr. depending on experience

We are hiring a Senior Data Analyst to support the Digital Platform Execution team at one of our largest Fortune 200 Energy clients. In this role, you will support strategic initiatives tied to the Modern Sales transformation and will be responsible for leading advanced data analytics and AI initiatives to support our client’s transformation projects. In this role, you will have a key part in delivering actionable insights, driving data-informed decision-making, and shaping the analytics roadmap for customer and sales intelligence. As the Senior Data Analyst, you will also be responsible for building out the inventory for different data sources and identifying ways for business stakeholders to visualize the data.

As the Senior Data Analyst, you will work closely with cross-functional teams (including sales leadership, product owners, and technical leads) to ensure that data is leveraged effectively to drive measurable business outcomes. You will mentor junior analysts and collaborate with stakeholders to maximize project impact. You have a proven track record of turning raw data into meaningful insight and is excited by the opportunity to make a measurable impact on sales strategy and operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering).
  • 5-8 years of experience in data analysis and AI, with a strong track record of driving strategic insights.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib), R, and SQL, to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Advanced knowledge of AI frameworks like TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or PyTorch.
  • Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, or Azure-based analytics ecosystems.
  • Proficiency with BI and visualization tools, such as Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, SQL Server.
  • Experience in machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, and anomaly detection.
  • Proven ability to clean, join, and analyze complex datasets from disparate sources (CRM, external vendors, internal systems).
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for conveying complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with sales platforms and CRM systems such as Salesforce.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Understanding of B2B sales and marketing use cases and experience in the energy sector.
  • Exposure to agile workflows and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Git).
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the exploration and preparation of high-value datasets for use in AI/ML models and algorithms for predictive analytics and pattern recognition.
  • Translate business problems into analytical requirements and partner with Data Scientists to design relevant features and input variables.
  • Conduct in-depth exploratory data analysis (EDA) using Python, SQL, and visualization tools to identify trends, correlations, and data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure data availability, accuracy, and reliability across ingestion pipelines.
  • Own the documentation and definition of key business entities and variables (e.g., customer, opportunity, lead) in alignment with modeling and reporting needs.
  • Evaluate model outputs and recommend improvements based on quantitative insight and business logic.
  • Create dashboards and analytical tools to help product managers, sales leaders, and data scientists interpret performance and opportunity areas.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to shared analytical standards and documentation practices, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the analyst voice in agile planning, roadmap discussions, and cross-team reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex data findings into actionable business strategies.
  • Ensure data accuracy and quality by employing advanced data preparation and cleaning techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Contribute to sprint planning and agile ceremonies, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in analytics.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality, reporting efficiency, and self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Support data governance and metadata documentation efforts.
