Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our school district in Aurora, CO on a contracted basis.
As a contracted Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional educational support to students with diverse learning needs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students and contribute to their academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with the IEP team.
- Deliver specialized instruction and interventions to students with disabilities, utilizing appropriate teaching strategies and accommodations.
- Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques to meet individual student needs and promote their academic progress.
- Assess students' educational progress regularly and modify instructional methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to promote an inclusive learning environment and ensure that students' needs are met in the least restrictive environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid TX teaching license in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with specific learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
