Position: Special Education Paraprofessional

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour (Pay can be higher depending on experience and if the candidate has a teaching certification)

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Role Overview: As a Paraprofessional, you will work closely with students, teachers, and other staff members to provide support in the classroom. Your role will involve assisting with curriculum development, implementing lesson plans, and promoting positive behavior management.

Responsibilities:

1. Instructional Support:
   • Assist students with educational tasks such as reading, writing, and math under the guidance of a teacher.
   • Provide one-on-one tutoring or small group instruction as needed.
2. Classroom Management:
   • Enforce classroom rules and maintain discipline.
   • Monitor student behavior and offer corrective guidance.
3. Special Needs Support:
   • Work with students who have physical or mental disabilities.
   • Assist with feeding, restroom use, mobility, and social development.
4. Classroom and Material Maintenance:
   • Keep the classroom organized and ensure educational materials are accessible.
   • Assist in preparing instructional materials.
5. Communication:
   • Interact with parents, administrators, and teachers.
   • Attend meetings, collaborate on progress reports, and seek feedback.

Experience:

• Completion of a high school education or equivalent is required.
• Completion of at least 2 years of college or possession of an associate degree is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and math.
• Compassionate nature and strong organizational skills.
