A leading agriculture company is seeking a Staff Accountant with some cost accounting knowledge on a direct hire basis. This company is offering a competitive salary, exceptional benefits, retirement, ample vacation, and a hybrid/ REMOTE work schedule!

Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role within the accounting and finance operations of the company, focusing on cost accounting and financial reporting. This position will involve analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to improve financial performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong GAAP accounting background with some cost accounting experience.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze cost accounting reports, including product costs, variances, and profitability analyses (will train).
• Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to analyze costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but work equivalency will suffice
• 3+ years of accounting experience with some cost accounting knowledge (company willing to train if a candidate has basic working knowledge)
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems with strong Excel skills
• Must have agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, and/or consumer goods industry experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
