Job Title: Sterilization Technician

Job Summary: Responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies, equipment, and endoscopes in accordance with established infection control practices. Must be detail-oriented, capable of working under pressure, and able to interact professionally with various hospital departments. Open to new ideas and eager to learn job duties.

Requirements

Aptitudes:

• Ability to handle multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, and difficult situations.
  
• Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective and empathetic patient care and customer relations.
  

Responsibilities:

• Decontaminating, cleaning, processing, and sterilizing supplies and equipment.
  
• Following infection control practices diligently.
  
• Maintaining a high level of conscientiousness regarding procedures.
  
• Basic understanding of department functions and technical processes.
  
• Basic computer skills.
  

Knowledge/Experience:

• Familiarity with medical terminology and equipment.
  
• Knowledge of cleaning and sterilization procedures.
  
• Basic computer literacy.
  
• Ability to handle moderate stress.
  

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
  

License/Certification:

• Certification preferred or eligibility for certification within 18 months of hire.
