Job Description

Position Title: Telecommunications Tower Top Hand 

Position Type:  Full-Time

Business Unit: Service

Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 7:00 am, end time varies based on job needs

Travel Requirements: 75-100% 

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Top Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tower maintenance, repair, and performing a variety of tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of communication equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of telecommunications equipment on towers
• Conduct tower climbs and work at heights to install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment
• Perform rigging, hoisting, and other safety procedures to ensure proper tower construction and maintenance
• Coordinate with team members to complete projects according to safety standards and deadlines
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to tower equipment and communication systems
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and communicate progress to supervisors and team members
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team

Vehicle/Fleet

• Check the oil & fluids of each truck & inspect each job trailer(s) and each piece of equipment in your charge before use.
• Clean out truck(s) & trailer(s) after each job and put materials and equipment away.

Safety Awareness

• Inspect all PFAS (personal fall arrest systems) prior to climbing.
• Report any safety concerns to the Crew Leader and/or Safety Coordinator.
• Attend a daily tailgate meeting to address daily tasks and safety issues.

Other Duties as Assigned

• Cleaning
• Equipment inventory/maintenance
• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience working on telecommunications towers
- Proficiency in tower climbing, rigging, and safety procedures
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications equipment and systems
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed
