Volunteer Events Committee Member - Marketing & Communications Lead The Marketing & Communications Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of 4 annual events by driving attendance, increasing visibility, and effectively communicating WAA’s value. All members can rotate responsibilities on different events. Key Responsibilities: Develop a marketing and communications plan to promote events. Collaborate with the committee to ensure marketing aligns with the event’s goals. Content Creation: Create engaging and visually appealing promotional materials, including flyers, social media posts, email campaigns, and press releases. Write compelling copy for marketing materials, event descriptions, and invitations. Oversee the design and production of branded event assets (banners, signage, etc.). Social Media Management: Manage social media accounts and develop a content calendar to ensure consistent posting. Engage with followers and respond to inquiries on social platforms. Monitor analytics to optimize campaign performance and outreach. Email Marketing & Communications: Develop and manage email campaigns to promote the event and share updates. Coordinate messaging for registration confirmations, reminders, and post-event follow-ups. Website & Event Page Management: Maintain an event landing page with up-to-date information. Ensure smooth integration of registration systems with promotional materials. Monitor and optimize web traffic and user engagement. On-Site Marketing Support: Oversee branding and promotional material placement at the event. Coordinate live social media coverage, such as posts, stories, or live streams. Capture photos, videos, and attendee testimonials for post-event promotion. Qualifications: Experience or strong interest in marketing, communications, or public relations is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic graphic design software. Creative mindset with attention to detail and brand consistency. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Passion for the mission and goals of the event. Time Commitment: Flexible hours, with an increased timetable leading up to events.
