Job Description

Purpose: Assist the Concerts & Events Office as directed including providing support for recitals, concerts, and events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee house and lobby and controls crowd before and after concerts and events.
  • Must keep halls tidy before, during and after events.
  • Responsible for stage production during scheduled events.
  • Be confident to "run-the-show" and be the backstage authority figure.
  • Set and Strike all performance equipment (including moving pianos, harpsichord, etc.).
  • Execute stage changes.
  • Operate Lighting Equipment.
  • Operate CD Playback and PA mic.
  • Operate Shades, Screen or Acoustic Draperies in Mixon Hall.
  • Communicates with other event staff and performers to keep the event running smoothly.
  • Monitor events at all times during shift.
  • Responsible for organizing and keeping backstage areas clean.
  • Notify the C&E Office/Maintenance if equipment is malfunctioning.

Rate of Pay : $15.00/ hr.

Qualifications:

  • Attend training sessions and mandatory meetings
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have decision making skills
  • Must be punctual, very reliable and assertive
  • Must be willing to dress properly for every shift
  • Must be prompt in reply to all communications with Supervisor
  • Capacity to handle stressful situations and troubleshoot problems quickly and efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to assume authority

Length of Employment: 8/26/24 to 5/8/25, or the date a student has earned their full WS award, or is no longer enrolled full time, whichever comes first.
