Salary: $31 per hour

Job Title: Maintenance Technician/Mechanic

Location: Suffolk, VA

Position Type: Full-Time (Monday - Friday)

Position Overview: On behalf of our client, MMG is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician/Mechanic to oversee all operational equipment maintenance, repairs, and facility maintenance at our Suffolk location. This role is critical in ensuring our cemetery's equipment and facilities are maintained to honor our veterans with dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on gas/diesel equipment and hand tools
• Manage and maintain cemetery maintenance shop areas and compounds
• Oversee facilities maintenance and irrigation systems
• Diagnose and complete equipment repairs efficiently
• Train staff on proper equipment operation and maintenance
• Maintain and operate all cemetery equipment
• Perform facilities maintenance tasks
• Troubleshoot and repair irrigation systems
• Travel as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of automotive and equipment maintenance experience
• Valid Virginia driver's license
  
• Proven mechanical repair and diagnostic skills
• Experience with facilities maintenance
• Knowledge of irrigation systems
• Strong communication and training abilities

Physical Requirements:

• Outdoor and indoor work environments
• Exposure to various weather conditions
• Professional cemetery setting
• May involve travel between locations
