About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President for Business Valuations to take on a leadership role in expanding its valuation practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing business valuation engagements across various purposes, including M&A, financial reporting, tax, and litigation support. This pivotal position requires the oversight of the preparation of valuation models, review of financial statements, industry research, and economic data to support valuation conclusions. The role also involves presenting findings and reports to a range of stakeholders and collaborating with deal teams on transaction-related valuations and fairness opinions. A key aspect of the job is mentoring and developing junior staff, as well as contributing to business development efforts. Applicants for the Vice President of Business Valuations at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' experience in financial services, with at least 3 years specifically in business valuations. A strong understanding of valuation methodologies and financial modeling techniques is essential, and experience in valuation for financial reporting, tax, or litigation is highly desirable. The role demands exceptional analytical, writing, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with an advanced degree or professional credentials such as ASA, CFA, CPA, or ABV being preferred. The ideal candidate will also possess strong leadership capabilities and a client-focused mindset.
